As part of CES 2024 in Las Vegas, Intel has officially unveiled its full lineup of 14th-generation Core mobile and desktop processors. It includes the 14th Gen Intel Core HX-series mobile CPUs, 18 new 14th Gen Intel Core desktop CPUs, and the new Intel Core U Processor Series 1.
Since last month’s announcement focused primarily on AI features, this announcement differs from last month’s announcement.
Intel’s 14th Gen Core HX series:
Gamers, creators, and professional users will be able to benefit from Intel’s 14th Gen Core HX series of mobile processors. It aims to provide the highest level of performance without compromising mobility. Featuring a turbo frequency of up to 5.8GHz, the new series is claimed to deliver up to 17% better gaming performance and up to 51% faster multitasking.
According to the company, these tests compared Intel’s 14th Gen Core i9-14900HX with AMD’s 7945X3D and 7945HX. The Intel chip in question has 32 threads and up to 24 cores, namely eight performance cores, or P-cores, and 16 Efficient cores, or E-cores.
There are 50% more E-cores in Intel’s Core i7-14700HX processors. With 28 threads and 20 cores, you will have eight P-cores and 12 E-cores. Overclockers can take advantage of Intel’s Extreme Utility (XTU) and Extreme Memory Profile (XMP).
New 14th Gen Intel Core HX-Series processors support Thunderbolt 5 and WiFi 7. Up to 80Gbps bidirectional bandwidth and 120Gbps bandwidth boost is now possible. Now you can connect more high-resolution displays and accessories without worrying about data transfer speed.
With this year’s new processor family from Intel, over 60 partner systems will be available.
14th Gen Intel Core Desktop CPUs:
Intel has announced 18 new 14th Gen Core desktop processors for mainstream PC users. Featuring a maximum turbo speed of 5.8GHz, these chips deliver up to 37% faster multi-thread performance and 7% better MS Office performance than their predecessors.
There are 24 cores in the Intel Core i9-14900, including eight P-cores and 16 E-cores. Intel Laminar RH1 and RM1 coolers continue to be supported in the new family. The device is compatible with Thunderbolt 4, WiFi 7, and WiFi 6E.
Online and offline retailers are already selling the new 14th Gen Intel Core desktop CPUs.
14th Gen Intel Core U Processor Series 1:
Intel’s Core U Series 1 is another rebranding. New chips are more or less the same as the previous generation, namely 13th Gen Intel Core U processors. In total, there are three processors: Core 3, Core 5, and Core 7.
There are 12 threads and 10 cores in the Intel Core 7 150U, with two P-cores and eight E-cores. The series supports WiFi 7, WiFi 6E, and Thunderbolt 4. Starting in Q1 2024, these new processors will be available in machines.
