On January 8, ASUS will launch the ROG Phone 8 series. It is expected that the lineup will include standard and pro versions. A glimpse of the upcoming offering’s back panel design has already been shared by the Taiwanese brand, along with some key details. ROG Phone 8 Pro has been leaked in high-res renders ahead of its launch.
ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro has a boxy design with power and volume rocker buttons on the right edge. On the left side of the frame, there is an additional USB-C port. There is a center-aligned punch-hole cutout on the front of the ROG Phone 8 Pro. To provide an immersive experience, the screen is surrounded by very narrow bezels on all sides.
There will be a squarish camera island protruding from the right edge of the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro. Three cameras are housed in the device, and there is a text confirmation that 8K ultra HD video can be recorded. The ROG logo on the Pro model will be illuminated differently than on the standard model, according to leaked renders. A special LED dot could be used to program the ROG logo on the device.
It has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a speaker grille, a USB-C port, and a SIM tray on the bottom.
It is already confirmed that the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. IP68 certification will ensure dust and water resistance. A telephoto mode of up to 10x is also expected to be included in the upcoming model. For smooth video recording, an anti-shake gimbal is also teased.
