Based on Apple’s internal designs, MacRumors created mockups that represent the clearest look yet at what we can expect from the next-generation iPhones.
MacRumors has some render images based on prototypes of the iPhone 16 Pro (codenamed Diablo) and the iPhone 16 Pro Max (codenamed Lightning). They are both similar to their predecessors, except for the larger screen diagonals and the addition of a capacitive Capture button below the power button on the right side.
It is expected that the iPhone 16 Pro will have a diagonal screen size of 6.27 inches. The device dimensions are 149.6mm x 71.45mm x 8.25mm and the weight is 194 grams. With a 6.85-inch screen, the 16 Pro Max is expected to measure 163 x 77.58 x 8.25mm and weigh 225 grams. Additionally, the 16 Pro series is expected to get 48MP ultrawide cameras, while the smaller 16 Pro will get a 5x tetraprism zoom lens.
One of the most interesting hardware features of the new devices is the Capture button, which is expected to be flush with the phone’s frame and feature a force sensor. iPhone Pro models will have a new button that will function as a shortcut to the camera app. Apple will have to move its mmWave antenna to the left side as a result of the Capture button’s placement.
