The updated Predator Helios and Helios Neo laptops from Acer come in 16-inch and 18-inch models with optional mini LED backlighting.
Both non-Neo Helios 16 and 18 feature mini LED displays with 2560×1600 resolution and a fast 250Hz refresh rate, along with 100% DCI-P3 color coverage. Only the size differs: 16 inches on the Helios 16 and 18 inches on the Helios 18.
With the Helios 16, you can choose from Core i9-14900HX or Core i7-14700HX processors, GeForce RTX 4080 GPU, DDR5 memory up to 32GB, and NVMe SSD storage up to 4TB. Also included are Killer Wi-Fi 7, DTS X:Ultra audio, a 90WHr battery, and a few other features.
With the Helios 18, Acer offers only one CPU option, the Core i9-14900HX, and up to a GeForce RTX 4090 GPU. Other specs are similar to those of the Helios 16.
Starting with the display, the Helios 16 Neo and Helios 18 Neo use standard IPS panels without mini LED backlighting. Besides that, the resolution and DCI-P3 color gamut ratings are the same, while the refresh rate is 240Hz.
Both models come with Core i9-14900HX, Core i7-14700HX, Core i7-14650HX, Core i5-14500HX, and Core 14450HX CPUs. Both models feature a GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and up to 2TB of NVMe SSD storage in RAID 0, as well as Killer Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
