We can expect Xiaomi to introduce its next-generation flagship phone in the second quarter of 2024, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Digital Chat Station, a popular tech tipster, shared some insights today about the phone’s color options and other aspects.
DCS reports that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will come in several colors, including blue, orange, and black with silicone skin. These colors, however, are reportedly engineering prototypes, hinting that there may be additional options, such as white.
Design-wise, DCS suggests the display will retain the micro-curved edges, while the back panel will get a streamlined bulge. The metal middle frame no longer extends to the battery cover, resulting in a more holistic look.
Smart Pikachu suggests that the circular camera module on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra might have a slight curve rather than its current straight-up-and-down orientation. In that case, it would seem that its design won’t be significantly different from its predecessor.
According to the tipster’s latest post on Weibo, Xiaomi will equip the device with a 50MP Sony LYT 900 primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.63 and optical image stabilization. Previously, it was rumored that the primary sensor would have variable apertures between f/1.42 and f/4.0.
According to the tipster, the f/1.63 aperture is equivalent to the f/4.3 aperture on a full frame camera. Compared to its predecessor, Xiaomi is expected to improve its optics department significantly. Different focal lengths will be available on the upcoming device, ranging from 0.5x to 5x.
The three other 50MP sensors in the device will have high aperture values, according to Digital Chat Station. According to reports, the smartphone will include an ultra-wide-angle 50MP lens, a telephoto 50MP lens, and a periscope 50MP lens. This device will be powered by a 5180mAh battery with 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging capabilities.
