Mobile World Congress (MWC) will take place from February 26-29 next year. Nothing has already begun sending invitations for their participation even though the event is still a few months away.
Carl Pei introduced the Phone (1) at MWC 2022, and Nothing announced a partnership with Qualcomm for the Phone (2) at MWC 2023. Therefore, we can expect some exciting hints from the team or even Carl Pei himself about their next device.
Currently, the new invite poster says “save the date” for February 27, with the cryptic message “Nothing to see.” This implies a new phone, but details are scarce.
Based on certifications, we know they’re working on a new smartphone named the Nothing Phone (2a). There are already some certifications in place, and the model number could be AIN142 when it launches in India.
According to rumors, the Nothing Phone (2a) will retain its signature Glyph Interface on its back panel. It is also expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a center-aligned selfie camera. There is speculation that the display might not be LTPO like the one on the Nothing Phone (2).
Nothing Phone (2a) will probably be powered by a mid-range Snapdragon or MediaTek Dimensity processor, given its positioning as a more affordable alternative. Currently, there is no information on the phone’s battery capacity or price.
The launch date of Nothing Phone (2a) is still unclear. It has been spotted on the BIS certification site, however, so its launch could be imminent.
