MediaTek is expected to launch its highly anticipated MediaTek Dimensity 9300 flagship processor on 26 October 2023, just before Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is released. MediaTek Dimensity 9300’s CPU clock speeds, structure, and GPU are much better than we initially expected, according to a reputable leaker.
According to popular leakster, Digital Chat Station on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 is the first octa-core CPU processor with 8 CPU performance cores and no CPU efficiency cores in an Android smartphone. The core structure appears to be 1+3+4 with 1 ARM Cortex X4 Prime core, 3 ARM Cortex X4 cores, and 4 ARM Cortex A720 cores.
According to the Weibo post, the CPU clock speed is expected to break 3.25 GHz, and the GPU is the latest ARM Immortalis G720 MC12 GPU for mobile processors. MediaTek Dimensity 9300 also surpassed Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in Antutu v10 benchmark scores, both in CPU and GPU. In terms of the power efficiency of the Dimensity 9300, Digital Chat Station says he is keeping his mouth shut until MediaTek’s flagship SoC is officially launched this month.
As previously confirmed, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 is manufactured on TSMC’s N4P process, a 4 nm node offering significant performance and power efficiency improvements over the N5 and N4 processes. Also, Dimensity 9300’s Cortex-X4 cores are predicted to improve performance by 15% and reduce power consumption by 40%. Energy efficiency is expected to increase by 20% with the Cortex-A720 cores.
