Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple may release new Macs in October 2023. Gurman’s weekly newsletter noted that iMacs, 13-inch MacBook Pros, 14-inch MacBook Pros, and 16-inch MacBook Pros are in short supply, which could be a sign that new models are coming soon.
Apple’s earnings call is scheduled for November 2, and the company traditionally holds a product launch event in October before its earnings call. On October 30 or 31, Apple might announce new Macs, he suggests.
The iMac is due for an update, but Apple has not yet revealed what new Macs it will release. There is a possibility that Apple will release a new 24-inch iMac with the M2 chip in 2022. The current 24-inch iMac was launched with the M1 chip in 2021.
In January 2023, Apple released new MacBook Pro models with the M2 chip. Apple probably won’t release new MacBook Pros any time soon, but it might release updated models with minor improvements.
Additionally, Gurman revealed that the next-generation MacBook Air models with M3 chips will not launch until early 2024, and a larger “pro” model of the iMac with a 32-inch display is planned for the end of 2024 or early 2025.
In general, it appears that Apple has at least one more product launch scheduled for 2023. Depending on the Macs Apple announces, Mac fans are sure to be thrilled with the news.
