Mark Gurman’s latest newsletter sheds more light on Apple’s upcoming more affordable Vision Pro AR/VR headset. The analyst says the EyeSight feature will be the first feature to be axed to reduce costs.
In order to bring down the price of the headset, Apple would have to eliminate the EyeSight feature, which requires an external OLED display and input from cameras and sensors inside. A price tag of $1,500-2,500 is expected from the company.
A hardware upgrade to the existing Vision Pro will likely take place in 2027, while the cheaper Vision Pro is expected to emerge in 2025.
It also mentions upcoming Apple M3-powered products, such as MacBook Pros, MacBook Airs, and iPads. Despite Apple having finished developing all devices, Gurman said that an announcement date has yet to be determined. However, it won’t be this month.
A new iPad Pro, for instance, is rumored to have an OLED display, a revamped design, a faster processor, as well as a new Magic Keyboard.
Apple is scheduled to release MacBook Pros with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips in the spring 2024, and mass production is just around the corner. It will likely take until next summer for the Airs to be released.
