Pixel phones continue to be leaked (unofficially or by Google itself) well before launch. This month, Google released a promo video showcasing the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro from every angle, as well as announcing the launch date of October 4th. On October 5th, pre-orders will open in India for the phones. Kamila Wojciechowska graciously provided 91mobiles with a leaked promo video revealing the Pixel phones’ cameras.
Google is probably planning to release this promo video soon enough, and it shows off the Pixel 8’s and Pixel 8 Pro’s camera features. The video highlights Pro controls (exclusive to Pixel 8 Pro), Real Tone, Night Sight, Astrophotography, Super Res Zoom, and the ability to swap faces in an image.
Videos have been enhanced with features like Video Boost, Night Sight, Audio Eraser, and improved skin tones.
Camera specs:
Wojciechowska also provided us with the phone’s camera specifications. The new Google Pixel 8 will feature dual-rear cameras with a 50MP main Octa PD wide camera with f/1.68 aperture & 82-degrees FOV. It also supports Super Res Zoom up to 8x. There is a secondary 12MP ultra-wide shooter with f/2.2 aperture & 125.8-degree FOV.
The Pixel 8 Pro features the same 50MP main Octa PD wide camera with f/1.68 aperture & 82-degrees FOV. It is coupled with a 48MP Quad PD ultra-wide shooter with an aperture f/1.95 & 125.5-degree FOV. Lastly, there is a 48MP Quad PD telephoto lens with an aperture of f/2.8, 5x optical zoom & 21.8-degrees FOV.
Both devices will feature the same 10.5MP Dual PD selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.2 & FF on the Pixel 8 whereas AF support on the Pixel 8 Pro. It comes with a 95-degree FOV.
According to the dedicated promo video highlighting several new camera features, Google is going big on cameras with the Pixel 8 series. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have already been shown off by Google. As expected, they look very much like their predecessors, with a rear camera visor and a punch-hole display. There will be a few more leaks before Google’s October event.
