Several Samsung Galaxy A05 model numbers have surfaced – SM-A055F and SM-A055M, plus a dual SIM version. Geekbench 6 has now been run several times on the F variant.
This phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 processor (MT6769V/CZ) according to the scorecard. Compared to the Galaxy A04, which used the Helio P35, this is a decent upgrade.
On the G85, there are two Cortex-A75 cores (2.0GHz) and six A55 cores (1.8GHz), compared to eight Cortex-A53 cores on the P35. It doubles single-threaded performance and boosts multi-threaded tests as well. Moreover, the Mali-G52 MC2 is twice as fast as the PowerVR GE8320 GPU.
This Galaxy A05 has 4GB of RAM, which is decent in this category, but the A04 comes in 3GB and 4GB versions. In this case, it’s enough to run full-blooded Android (version 13), rather than dipping down to Go Edition.
The Galaxy A04 and A04s were both unveiled in late August so it can’t be too long before we hear more official news about this phone.
