Galaxy S24 Ultra’s display has been upgraded, it was revealed earlier today. Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series is expected to feature thinner and more energy-efficient OLED screens. A 3x zoom telephoto camera is also included with the Galaxy S24 Ultra along with the improved display. There have been more leaks about the new telephoto camera.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, according to tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce). According to reports, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will use a 1/2.52-inch sensor (could be the ISOCELL GM5) instead of the 1/3.52-inch sensor with a 10MP resolution. Even at a 5x non-native zoom level, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to deliver excellent image quality due to its larger size and higher resolution.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra could also shoot 8K 30fps videos using the telephoto camera, something that’s not possible with Samsung’s current phones. Samsung will heavily market the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s improved zoom quality, according to the tipster.
Compared to the Galaxy S23 Ultra and previous Samsung flagship phones, the new camera sensor could also improve image quality at 3x zoom in low-light conditions. We’ll have to wait and see if the camera makes it to the base Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+. However, Samsung is unlikely to upgrade the zoom camera on all three Galaxy S24 phones at the same time.
