On August 28th, Reliance will hold its annual general meeting, and the company is expected to announce its plans for rolling out JioAir Fiber. According to a new ET Telecom report, Mukesh Ambani’s teleco might launch its service at a 20 percent discount. Jio AirFiber services are expected to cost Rs 6,000 at launch, according to a previous leak.
According to an ET Telcom report, Jio AirFiber might be offered at a discount of 20% to retail users. Since Jio AirFiber is the second FWA service provider after Airtel Xstream AirFiber, it’s safe to assume Jio AirFiber will be cheaper. As part of Jio’s strategy to disrupt the market, this is in keeping with its disruptive strategy. There are no details about the upcoming service’s pricing in the report, which we should learn about next week.
ET Telecom’s report also reveals that the company has sent test devices to selected employees. Prior to the release of the AGM 2023, the telco will test the device in a home environment.
According to the source, the company has begun consumer trials in locations where its 5G rollout has been completed and stabilized. Jio True 5G reports that 5G has been rolled out in 6,258 cities or towns across 36 states.
As with Jio Fiber and postpaid Plus plans, Jio may offer a free trial period for the FWA device. In addition, Mukesh Ambani’s telco might not impose a 6-month lock-in period like Airtel to attract subscribers. Next week, we’ll learn more about the service.
