There are reports that Jio plans to launch new smartphones in the Indian market in the near future. In its annual AGM event later this month, Reliance Industries is expected to unveil its latest 5G smartphone offerings. In advance of this event, a new BIS listing reveals two new models.
It is expected that the company will hold its AGM on August 28. There have been several rumors and reports regarding this device recently, but a BIS sighting further confirms these leaks. Mukul Sharma, a known tipster, shared the listing details in a tweet. According to the listing, Jio Phones will be manufactured in Noida.
There are also two models in the works, carrying the model numbers JBV161W1 and JBV162W1. There are no further details about the device, such as its specifications or price, included in the listing. We covered leaked images of the new Jio Phone 5G in our previous report.
It could very well be the cheapest 5G phone in India when it debuts later this month.

The source revealed that JioPhone 5G will be 6.5 inches IPS LCD HD+ with a resolution of 1600 x 720p. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ SoC with 4GB RAM & 32GB internal storage. It will also come with microSD support for storage expansion.
The JioPhone 5G will sadly run on outdated Android 12 OS. It comes with standard features like Google Assistant support, a read-aloud text feature, and instant translation via Google Lens and Google Translate. It will come with Jio standard apps MyJio, JioTV, JioCinema, and JioSaavan.
The device will feature dual rear cameras 13MP main sensor & a 2MP macro sensor. There 8MP selfie camera for video calling. The device will pack a 5000 mAh battery & 18W fast charging support. It comes with connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.1, A-GPS, GLONASS, NavIC, 5G, and dual SIM card support. It will arrive with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
