As of August 2022, Xiaomi’s Mi Mix Fold 2 is still the company’s latest foldable flagship. With Snapdragon 8+ Gen1, it is powered by a flagship chipset. Next month, Xiaomi is expected to reveal the next generation of this foldable device.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 foldable flagship will be released in August 2023 in collaboration with Leica Image Optics. According to Xiaomi’s official Weibo profile, Xiaomi and Leica have developed a new solution for an “optical quad-cam setup”. In contrast to its predecessors, the Mix Fold 3 will have four shooters instead of three.
Xiaomi is expected to have four cameras on the back, including a wide-angle, ultrawide, telephoto, and one periscope lens, which is the same combination as vivo and Huawei foldable. Xiaomi has yet to reveal the specs of its implementation.
At the time of its launch, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 was the thinnest foldable device, and it had 67W fast charging as well. We hope Xiaomi will launch its Fold series internationally this time, even though earlier rumors suggested it wouldn’t.
