As of now, Xiaomi has not completed its MIUI 14 rollout, with many users eagerly waiting for the Android 13 update. It is certainly disappointing since Android 14 is almost here. The alpha builds of MIUI 15 have now been spotted on the company’s servers, so it seems Xiaomi started developing the software months ago. There should be several improvements in MIUI’s latest version, including improved animations.

Xiaomiui has discovered MIUI 15 alpha builds on the Xiaomi server. It appears that development started in May, as the latter version was available for testing on the 22nd of that month on the test server. Similar to MIUI 14, which had versions for both Android 12 and Android 13, MIUI 15 will support both Android 13 and Android 14.

MIUI 15 is expected to introduce a number of new improvements and features. Though no specifics are provided, the outlet highlights improved animations as well as various other innovations. The new version should follow the same timeline as MIUI 14, which was released last December. Xiaomi phones with eligible software should start receiving it in Q1 of 2024.

The MIUI 15 alpha builds were spotted testing on a device codenamed “garnet,” which is rumored to be part of the upcoming Redmi Note 13 line. It’s likely that the Redmi Note 13 will be the first device to receive the MIUI 15 update since Xiaomi usually launches the Redmi Note series towards the end of the year. The upcoming series of Xiaomi smartphones will be available in China, India, and other international markets.
