Vivo’s X100 series, focused on photography, will debut as early as November this year. It is rumored that there will be three models in the series: the Vivo X100, X100 Pro, and X100 Pro+. As one of these, the X100 Pro+ is expected to feature a groundbreaking 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. Weibo recently revealed that this camera will have a custom-made sensor.
According to reputable tipster Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X100 Pro+’s 200-megapixel periscope camera has undergone meticulous customization, surpassing the optical performance of renowned Sony sensors like the IMX890 and IMX866. Vivo and Samsung are collaborating on the camera sensor, tentatively called the Samsung HPV.
With a generous 1/1.4-inch size and native 3x or 5x optical zoom capabilities, this lightweight camera sensor is believed to be based on the Samsung HP3. Users will be able to enjoy a 10x optical zoom experience thanks to advanced AI algorithms, claim both tipsters.
According to reports, Vivo’s X100 and X100 Pro will both use the upcoming Dimensity 9300 chipset. There is a possibility that this year’s flagship Dimensity chip will debut in October or November.
There is an expectation that Vivo X100 Pro+ will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Along with the X90 and X90 Pro, the X90 Pro+ debuted last year. In a recent report, it was claimed that the X100 Pro+ would debut in 2024. The X90 Pro+ was not released outside of China by Vivo. Thus, it is unclear whether the X100 Pro+ will be available globally.
