After almost a year of launching Galaxy Z Fold4, we now have the successor aka Galaxy Z Fold5 official. The new Galaxy Z Fold5 doesn’t get any major changes but comes with more powerful internals than its predecessor.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5:
The placement of the USB Type-C port, speaker grills, and microphone arrangements are similar to the last generation device. There is also a triple rear camera setup on the back, which is similar to the Galaxy Fold 4. The Galaxy Z Fold5 will have a slimmer bezel than the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which will increase the screen-to-body ratio and provide an immersive viewing experience.
Aside from these details, we don’t know much about the device from the image. With the exception of the slimmer bezel, the design is quite similar to the predecessor. Samsung will not be releasing a major design overhaul this year. It arrives in Phantom Black, Cream, and Icy Blue. The device measures 13.4 mm thick and weighs 253g.

The Galaxy Z Fold5 5G will sport the new two Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays of 7.6 inches with a resolution of 2176 x 1812 pixels (21.6:18 aspect ratio) with a 120Hz refresh rate. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on top and there are secondary 6.2 inches FHD+ AMOLED display (2316 x 904p). The device comes with improved UTG glass this time.
The Galaxy Z Fold5 5G is indeed powered by SD 8 Gen 2 SoC coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB internal storage space. It comes with triple rear cameras featuring 50MP with f / 1.8, 1.8 µm, OIS, 2PD, 12MP telephoto lens with f/2.4, OIS, with 3x optical zoom and 12MP ultra-wide sensor with 123-degrees FoV, f/2.2 aperture with LED flash.
There is a new 4MP under-display selfie camera on the internal display with an f/1.8 aperture. There is a 10MP selfie camera on the external display with an f/2.2 aperture. The Galaxy Z Fold5 5G is also certified with an IP68 rating making it dust and water-resistant. It also gets S-Pen support, wireless charging, and Dolby Atmos speakers.
The connectivity option includes a Single SIM with 4G LTE and VoLTE support, 5G, NFC, A-GPS, GLONASS, NaVIC, USB Type-C, Wifi-6, and Bluetooth 5.3. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device runs on Android 13 with One UI 5.1 on top.
The Galaxy Z Fold5 ships with a 4400 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support and 15W wireless charging.
Pricing:
The Galaxy Z Fold5 with 12GB+256GB costs £1,749 (Rs.1,85,400/-), the 12GB+512GB at £1,849 (Rs.1,96,000/-) & 12GB+1TB at £2,049 (Rs.2,17,100). Sadly no word of Indian pricing details at the moment. But the Galaxy Z Fold5 will be on pre-orders right from now and will go on sale from Aug 11.
