Redmi K70 will reportedly have top-of-the-line specifications when it launches in the near future. The K series’ base model will be upgraded to cement its status as a ‘vanilla flagship’.
Information about the story comes from the Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website) user Digital Chat Station. According to the tipster, the K70 will be equipped with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. This chip is also used by the Redmi K60 Pro model. It’s not surprising since the Redmi K60 also featured a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which was an upgrade over the Dimensity 8100 in the vanilla K50.
The K70 Pro model, however, is expected to feature Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship chipset. It is likely that this processor will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The Redmi K70 and K70 Pro models are expected to launch in China by the end of the year, according to Digital Chat Station. Considering the K60 lineup was also launched in December last year, this is probably the case.
The announcement will take place in December this year, and the smartphones will go on sale early next year. iQOO and Realme are likely to compete with Redmi’s K70 series.
