It was our pleasure to unveil the first look at the OnePlus Fold, OnePlus’ first foldable device, to the world last month. An exciting announcement has been made by OnePlus that the official launch of the OnePlus Fold will take place in New York during the last week of August.
It is reported that this information comes from reliable tipster Arvind, who claims to have obtained it from reliable sources within the company. If everything goes according to plan, the launch will take place on August 29. It is not possible to verify the accuracy of Mr. Arvind’s statements as he did not provide any additional information about the source of his claims.
Known OnePlus leaker Max Jambor, earlier revealed that the first OnePlus foldable device will likely be titled OnePlus Open.

The new OnePlus Open sports a massive 7.8 inches QHD+ aka 2K foldable punch-hole internal LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Further, there is a smaller 6.3 inches outer punch-hole AMOLED display with an 18:9 aspect ratio & resolution of 2120 × 1080p. Now, the outer display also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. There is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top for the internal display.
The OnePlus Open is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC coupled with 12GB/16GB RAM and 256GB/512GB UFS 3.1 internal storage.
There is a total of five cameras three on the back and two selfie cameras one outer other for internal display. The OnePlus Open features a 48MP main sensor coupled with a 48MP ultra-wide sensor and a 64MP telephoto sensor. There is a 32MP Sony IMX615 selfie shooter on the inner well & 20MP selfie shooter on the outer display. It comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The OnePlus Open packs a 4800 mAh battery with 100W Super VOOC charge support & 15W wireless charging support. It also gets 10W reverse wireless charging support. The OnePlus Open runs on Android 13 with ColorOS 13.1 on top.
