In recent years, Honor hasn’t launched a new phone on the Indian smartphone market. There are recent reports that the company is planning a comeback, headed by Realme’s Madhav Sheth. It is rumored that the Honor 90 will debut in mid-September with a price tag below Rs. 50,000, making it the first device to debut in the country after years.
According to IANS, Honor 90 will be unveiled in the first half of September. It did not specify a specific date but claimed the Honor 90 will cost around Rs 45,000 in India. OnePlus 11R, Oppo Reno 10 Pro, and even the flashy Nothing Phone (2) will all compete against Honor 90 if true.
There is no doubt that the smartphone looks good and could attract the attention of many Indian consumers. In India, smartphones with good camera setups sell well, as evidenced by the popularity of the Oppo Reno and Vivo V series. Aside from extensive ad campaigns and influencer collaborations, there are other factors that drive sales.
Design:
The new Honor 90 series will come with an identical design and has not got any major changes. Both of them will remind us of the Honor 70 series as even it shipped with a huge circular camera module on the back.
The only change we noticed in terms of camera modules on the Honor 90 series which has got slightly oval-shaped. The Honor 90 series will sport a curved bezel-less punch-hole display.
Honor 90:
The new Honor 90 comes with 6.7 inches FHD+ OLED quad-curved display with 120Hz refresh rate support. It comes with HDR10 & 10-bit color support. The Honor 90 will ship with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC coupled with 8GB/12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB storage options.
The Honor 90 will ship with triple rear cameras with a 200MP main sensor having an aperture of f/1.9. It is coupled with a 12MP ultra-wide with f/2.0 and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. There is a 50MP selfie shooter on the front. The device comes with the latest Bluetooth 5.2 & in-display fingerprint scanner support. It runs on Android 12 with MagicOS 7.1 on top.
It packs a massive 5000 mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. The Honor 90 measures 7.8mm thick and weighs 183g. It will arrive in four colors Midnight Black, Emerald Green, and Diamond Silver.
The connectivity options include Dual SIM with 4G LTE and 5G support, A-GPS, GLONASS, and GPS. It also comes with Dual-band Wifi, USB Type-C Port, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC.
