In October of this year, Qualcomm is expected to announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. There is speculation that the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones will debut as early as November. Xiaomi’s 14 series will be the first to feature it. Digital Chat Station, a Chinese tipster, has revealed that Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi will also launch a phone with an SD8G3 processor.
In December 2022, Redmi unveiled the Redmi K60 series. Redmi K60e, Redmi K60, and Redmi K60 Pro were announced. Each of these smartphones is powered by a Dimensity 8200, Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, or Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
There is a good chance that the Redmi K70 series will also include multiple smartphones. The tipster claims that a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone will be part of the lineup. Accordingly, it is likely that the Redmi K70 will be equipped with the same chipset as the K60 Pro.
K60 Pro was exclusive to the Chinese market. Therefore, it is unclear whether the K70 Pro will be available outside of China. Redmi K70 specifications are not yet available.
According to reports, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will have 1 x Cortex X4 core clocked at 3.75GHz, 5 x Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 3.0GHz, and 2 x Cortex-A520 cores clocked at 2.0GHz.
