Another tipster on Twitter shared some additional details about Samsung’s Galaxy Watch6 family yesterday, and today Ice Universe, one of the more well-known leaksters, has also endorsed the details.
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch6 family members are expected to have thinner bezels and larger screens than their predecessors. It is expected that they will be powered by Exynos W930 chipset, which is manufactured on a 5nm process. They will all be equipped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Compared to the previous generation, that is half a gigabyte of additional RAM.
According to reports, the Galaxy Watch6 comes with a battery capacity of 300 mAh in its 40mm version (compared to 284 mAh in its predecessor), and 425 mAh in its 44mm version (up from 410 mAh in its predecessor).
Interestingly, the Watch6 Classic’s two sizes will share the same battery capacity as the Watch6. The 43mm version will have a capacity of 300 mAh, and the 47mm version will have a capacity of 425 mAh.
This is a far cry from last year’s Galaxy Watch5 Pro, which featured a comparatively large 590 mAh battery, but there are still improvements when compared to the ‘vanilla’ Watch5 models.
In any case, most markets around the world are expected to launch the 40mm Watch6 in graphite and gold, and the rest in graphite and silver. Samsung is likely to release more hues, each limited to a specific geographic region.
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Watch6 family at an Unpacked event taking place in Korea in the last week of July, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Z Fold5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series.
