According to rumors, Samsung will hold its Galaxy Unpacked event in South Korea instead of the US or Europe. Samsung has officially confirmed that the next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place in South Korea, confirming those rumors.
Samsung DX’s Global Marketing Center President Lee Young-hee confirms this. When asked why the Galaxy Unpacked event will be held in Seoul, South Korea, Lee Young-hee replied, “Because Korea is meaningful and important to us.”.
Galaxy Unpacked is rumored to take place on July 26 at COEX in Gangnam-Gu, Seoul, but Lee Young-hee hasn’t revealed the date or location.
Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 foldable smartphones will be unveiled at Samsung’s Unpacked event, along with Galaxy Watch6. This event might also see the Korean conglomerate unveil its mixed reality (MR) headset, but little is known about it.
Galaxy Z Fold5:
According to the leak, the upcoming foldable phone will feature a 7.6-inch display on the inside and a 6.2-inch display on the outside. The displays are both AMOLED panels that support a 120Hz refresh rate, which aligns with our previous report. The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. There is also a leak that a triple camera setup will be available on the rear, consisting of a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra wide-angle sensor, and a 10MP periscope lens with 3x optical zoom. The front camera is expected to be 12MP.
It will also be protected by an IPX8 rating and support Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It is likely that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 will run on Android 13 OS with the One UI out of the box. The phone will also support 25W fast charging and have an under-display camera for selfies. Stay tuned for more updates as the device is expected to launch in August 2023.
