In the second half of this year, we are likely to see the OnePlus 12 out in the wild, as previous rumors indicated that the company is focusing on a proper upgrade instead of a half-baked one. A report by Yogesh Brar claims the device will indeed launch in early Q1 next year, following a Chinese release in December.

However, several key improvements are promised in the report. There has been a significant upgrade in the camera department. We expect to see a 1-inch imager like the Oppo Find X6 Pro in place of the main sensor. Moreover, the leak mentions a new telephoto lens, which suggests that the 32MP Sony IMX709 RGBW unit will still be used, but with an improved lens. Since the OnePlus 11 has an unimpressive 2x zoom, even though the quality is pretty good, we hope for a larger zoom reach.

In addition, a next-generation panel will be installed on the display. It’s going to be an LTPO4 OLED panel if we were to guess.

According to reports, the OnePlus 12 will feature faster charging (the 11 has 100W) and a symmetrical design. The last bit isn’t really clear, but maybe it refers to the camera island on the back. Most likely, it will be centered.
