Since MWC 2023, Nothing has been teasing its upcoming Nothing Phone (2). The next-generation smartphone is expected to launch in late 2023, according to the company. Carl Pei, however, confirmed in a recent Forbes interview that the launch will take place in July 2023.
BIS indicates that the device will be launched in India. Furthermore, the microsite listing confirms Flipkart’s availability. Flipkart has been Nothing’s online partner since Ear (1) launched in India, so this shouldn’t be surprising.
GeekBench’s listing confirmed the model number, which we revealed exclusively previously. Nothing has now revealed about the display size, Android updates, and more about Phone 2.
Specs:
According to SGS, Nothing Phone (2) has a carbon footprint of 53.45kg, 5 kg less than Phone (1). Despite this, the company claims it managed to increase battery capacity by 200mAh and screen size by 0.15 inches. The Phone (2) will sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display. The device will continue to have a 120Hz refresh rate, according to reports.
The upcoming device will be powered by a large 4700mAh battery, according to Carl Pei. The company has not yet commented on the device’s fast-charging capabilities. It is possible that the device will continue to support 33W fast charging. In a previous announcement, Nothing CEO revealed the device would feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
Further, Nothing confirmed that will use a recycled aluminum mid-frame with the smartphone. Furthermore, 90% of the 28 stamping parts are made from recycled steel, and 90% of the plastic parts are sourced from sustainability. As with the latest iPhones, the upcoming device will feature plastic-free packaging.
In terms of sustainability, the company is setting a standard for other smartphone manufacturers. Furthermore, the upcoming device will receive three major Android updates and up to four years of security updates. Prolonged updates are intended to increase the number of years a user uses the software.
