Qualcomm confirmed the announcement date for its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which boasts significant improvements over its predecessor in terms of performance and power efficiency. A new flagship SoC will be announced earlier than usual – between October 24 and 26.
Qualcomm will hold its Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Hawaii, as per tradition, but about a month earlier than last year. As far as we know, the chip will use a new 1+5+2 architecture instead of the 1+2+2+3 used in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Gen 2 chips.
Powered by five Cortex-A720 cores, two Cortex-A620 cores, and an Adreno 750 GPU, the SoC is said to run on a Cortex-X4 prime core. Additionally, the CPU package will update its L3 cache from 8MB to 10 MB.
Xiaomi 14 series will be the first to use Qualcomm’s new flagship chip in November, followed by the vivo X100 series, iQOO 12 series, Redmi K70 series, OnePlus 12, and Realme GT5.
