On July 11, the Nothing Phone (2) will be officially unveiled. Nothing OS 2.0 will run on the device, the company’s new skin over Android 13. As the name implies, this is a big release for the company – around 100 people have been working on it since Nothing OS 1.5 was released.
You might be wondering when the brand new Nothing OS 2.0 will be available for your Nothing Phone (1), and the answer is “by the end of August,” according to Nothing CEO Carl Pei.
It’s around a month and a half after the launch of the Nothing Phone (2). There’s no word on what’s new in Nothing OS 2.0, but we’ve heard mumblings that the software team started almost from scratch in designing it, so it sounds pretty intriguing.
As Carl Pei says, software support is “very important” for his company, and we’re hoping that won’t be forgotten when it comes time to (hopefully soon) update both handsets to Android 14. The Nothing Phone (1) definitely wasn’t among the first to get Android 13 update.
