It is expected that Google Pixel 8 series will launch later this year. In October, the company will launch two premium smartphones under its flagship series. The Pixel 8 series was not showcased at I/O 2023, unlike last year. Many leaks have revealed some key details about the Pixel 8 series in the past. A new listing on the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) certification website has contributed to the development.
Google will launch two flagship smartphones later this year, including the Pixel 8. The model number is GKWS6. It was explicitly confirmed in the listing that the Pixel 8 will support wireless charging at 12W. As for wireless charging, yes, it is the same as the Pixel 7. Further, the listed Qi standard, which is 1.2.4, indicates that the Pixel 8 will not support Qi2, which was recently announced to support wireless charging using magnets like Apple’s MagSafe.
In the placeholder image, there is a thick bezel around the display and a hole-punch cutout in the top center. Pixel 8 renders that we revealed reveal thinner bezels than those used in the WPC listing image.
With a hole-punch cutout at the top center, the Pixel 8’s screen will remain flat. It will also feature a 6.2-inch OLED display, which is marginally smaller than the 6.3-inch display on the current Pixel 7.
