Recently, Apple announced the Vision Pro, the company’s new VR/AR-enabled headset, marking its entry into the market. With the new headset, it appears that there will be some notable changes coming to Apple’s popular iPhone series as well.
The Cupertino company is working on improving the integration of its upcoming iPhone models with the Vision Pro headset, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Apparently, Apple will bring hardware upgrades to future iPhones in order to accomplish this. Since the brand seamlessly connects various products across multiple platforms, including iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, etc., this move isn’t surprising.
Apple’s upcoming iPhone models are likely to feature Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology. The new Vision Pro headset would make it easier for them to work together. As a result, Apple’s iPhone 15 is likely to come with an upgraded Ultra Wideband chip to ensure seamless and robust connectivity. Kuo claims that the new iPhones will have an upgraded U1 chip. The iPhone 11 was the first smartphone to use this UWB chipset.
Even existing features like AirDrop, Find My, and more would be enhanced by the new and improved chip. However, the primary benefit of updating the U1 chip is better integration with the Vision Pro headset. Kuo also believes the iPhone 16 will be the first iPhone from the company to feature Wi-Fi 7. A number of benefits will be provided by this wireless technology, including faster speeds. VR and AR experiences will be improved if this is done. It is even expected that the tech will be able to integrate better across multiple platforms in the future.
