Vivo released the V27 Pro in early March. After mere weeks, the Chinese company is ready to unveil the V29 Pro. The release of a new version so soon is rather strange – successors usually jump a few numbers forward, but we’re not sure what’s happening here.

However, Vivo Philippines has posted a teaser page for its upcoming V29 Pro. It’s fortunate that that page reveals most of the handset’s main specs, so let’s see how it compares to the V27 Pro.

The V29 Pro has a 6.7-inch 1080p 120 Hz curved OLED touchscreen, a 64 MP triple rear camera solution, a 50 MP front camera (implying there’s more than one), and a 5,000 mAh battery with fast wired charging support. There will be 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on the phone.

That’s some pretty good specs, and compared to the V27 Pro, the V29 Pro has possibly the same screen, a different main rear camera (64 MP on the new model, 50 MP on the old), and a bigger battery. There are also versions of the V27 Pro with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.

When the V29 Pro becomes fully official, it will run Android 13 with vivo’s Funtouch 13 on top.
