In recent reports, Redmi is developing a new tablet, as revealed by its appearance on the EEC certification database under the model number 23073RPBFG. The listing didn’t mention the tablet’s name or specs, but it’s probably the Redmi Pad 2.
Redmi Pad 2:
Tipster Kacper Skrzypek tweeted out the Redmi Pad 2 details. Skrzypek revealed that the Redmi Pad 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 680 chipset, an upgrade from its predecessor’s Helio G99.
Due to its Snapdragon 680 chipset, the Redmi Pad 2 is likely to perform worse than its predecessor, the Redmi Pad, which used the Helio G99 SOC. On AnTuTu, the Helio G99 outperforms the Snapdragon 680 by approximately 35%. It offers a superior GPU performance of around 16%. As the trade-off in performance may not justify the cost for some consumers, the pricing strategy for the Redmi Pad 2 will be a key factor. It’ll be interesting to see how the brand positions and prices this tablet.
The Redmi Pad 2 is rumored to feature a 10.95-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1200×1920 pixels. The display will support a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, enhancing the visuals.
Redmi Pad 2 is said to have an 8-megapixel primary camera on the back, providing decent imaging capabilities. There’s a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
It’s going to launch with Android 13 out of the box. Also plus Xiaomi’s MIUI 14 interface, delivers a user-friendly and feature-rich experience. We don’t have any other details yet.
