It has been confirmed that Nothing Phone (2) will have an ARM processor. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC will power the upcoming offering, according to the brand’s CEO Carl Pei. In addition to performance gains, he said it is a significant improvement over its predecessor. The Nothing Phone (2) is scheduled to debut in British summer this year, which is between June and August.
Chipset details about the Nothing Phone (2) have been circulating online for some time. Phone (1) is powered by a Snapdragon 778G+ processor. The upcoming Phone (2) will open apps twice as fast as its predecessor, according to Pei. There will also be an 80 percent improvement in overall performance. Additionally, the phone will have improvements in battery life, connectivity, and cameras. The camera is also said to support RAW HDR and 4K recording at 60 frames per second.
In Nothing Phone (2), Pei did not disclose whether the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will be underclocked to 3GHz instead of 3.2GHz in the standard version. Even though the chipset is a year old, it still offers powerful performance.
Furthermore, Nothing also revealed that the Phone (2) won’t be overpriced and it will be accessible despite its Snapdragon 8-series processor.
The brand will reveal more details about the Nothing Phone (2) in the months leading up to its launch. According to Geekbench, the phone will come with 12GB RAM and run Android 13. There will reportedly be a 120Hz AMOLED display and a 5,000mAh battery on the device.
