Google’s Fitbit line tends to get updated every two years, unlike Apple and Samsung’s smartwatches. Google will release the Pixel Watch on an annual basis, according to an industry source. Later this year, we can expect a new Pixel Watch, possibly dubbed the Pixel Watch 2.
The Pixel 8 and 8 Pro should be unveiled in October when the online giant traditionally unveils its flagship devices. In September, the Pixel 5 was the only exception.
There are still no details about the Pixel Watch 2. The overall dome design, however, appears unlikely to change drastically, just refined, perhaps with a larger display and thinner bezels. A similar design may also mean that the watch band attachment mechanism will remain the same, so current Pixel Watch bands can be carried forward. We may see the Snapdragon W5+, with its 4nm manufacturing process, making the next Pixel Watch last longer on a single charge. Currently, there has been no indication of different sizes for the watch.
Google is planning to unveil the Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold at its Google I/O event on May 10. The company could also tease other devices like the Pixel Watch 2, so that’s something to look forward to. As we get closer to the October release date, hopefully, more information will emerge.
