Predator Triton 16 and Swift Edge 16 are the latest premium offerings from the Taiwanese brand Acer. The former is a compact AMD-powered notebook for creators, while the latter is a powerful gaming and work laptop. AMD Ryzen 7040 Series processors and AMD Radeon 780M graphics power the Swift Edge 16. Predator Triton 16 is powered by 13th Gen Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics. Additionally, Acer announced the Connect Vero W6m, which is its first eco-friendly Wi-Fi 6E router made from post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials.
Acer Swift Edge 16
Acer Swift Edge 16 is the brand’s latest lightweight flagship laptop weighing just 1.23 kg. With a stylish design, the laptop features a magnesium alloy chassis. There is a 16-inch OLED display with 3.2K resolution that has been certified by TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe. The display has a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a peak brightness of 500 nits.
The laptop is powered by AMD Ryzen 7040 Series processors and AMD Radeon 780M GPUs. For faster loading and read/write speeds, the processor is paired with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 2 TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. For efficient thermal management and smooth performance, there’s TwinAir cooling technology.
Swift Edge 16 models are also equipped with AMD Ryzen AI for real-time video enhancements during video calls. It features a 1,440p QHD webcam with automatic framing, gaze correction, and advanced background blur features. Microsoft Pluton security processor and Windows Hello fingerprint reader provide security and authentication for the laptop.
The Acer Swift Edge 16 comes with Wi-Fi 7, 2 USB Type-A ports, 2 USB 4 Type-C PD 65W ports, HDMI 2.1, and a microSD card reader. Right out of the box, it boots the Windows 11 operating system.
Acer Predator Triton 16
Acer Predator Triton 16 is a thin gaming laptop that is just 0.78 inches thick and made of metal. It features a 16-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600 pixels) IPS display with 240 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits peak brightness, and DCI-P3 100% color gamut support. The device comes with a 13 Gen Intel Core i9 processor. It also includes NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card, the latest gaming laptop powered by the latest gaming technology. It includes features such as NVIDIA Advanced Optimus, NVIDIA G-SYNC, and NVIDIA DLSS 3.
Additionally, the processor supports up to 32GB of DDR5 5200MHz RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe M.2 SSDs in RAID 0. For effective thermal management, Acer uses dual Gen 5 AeroBlade 3D fans, Vortex Flow optimization, and liquid metal thermal grease. The PredatorSense utility app allows you to customize the per-key RGB lighting on the laptop’s full-sized keyboard. Additionally, the app allows you to customize system settings.
For authentication, the Predator Triton 16 comes with a fingerprint scanner that supports Windows Hello. In addition to a Type-C USB port with Thunderbolt 4 and a microSD card reader, this Windows 11 machine has 2 USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, HDMI 2.1, and 2 USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports.
Acer’s official online stores and major retailers worldwide will sell these laptops from the specified date.
Pricing:
In North America, the Acer Swift Edge 16 and Predator Triton 16 will be available in July 2023 and September 2023, respectively. There will be two price points: $1,299 for the former (Rs 1,07,400) and $1,799 for the latter (Rs 1,48,700).
