Vivo X Fold2 has been rumored for over a month, and today the company confirmed the device. According to Huang Tao, VP of vivo, the new foldable will be the official phone of the Boao Forum in 2023.
The foldable device will demonstrate China’s innovation and technology. Executives expect leaks and spy shots before April’s official announcement.
With 120W fast charging, the phone is expected to have a 4,800 mAh battery. Weibo user Digital Chat Station previously posted that the X Fold2 will have a Sony IMX866 sensor, OIS, and V2 ISP. Hence, the main camera will be the same as the 50MP camera on the vivo X90 and iQOO 11 Pro.
It is also rumored that the phone will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and dual ultrasonic fingerprint sensors – one on each screen. In the world of foldable, that would be a first; so far, manufacturers have opted for power keys embedded with sensors.
On stage during the eventual launch of the vivo X Fold2, the company is likely to showcase a clamshell vivo X Flip, as well as a new tablet called the vivo Pad 2. The beginning of April is just around the corner, so we hope to learn more soon.
