Vivo will launch the Vivo X Fold 2 and Vivo X Flip in April. Vivo will unveil its S17 series of smartphones in China in the third quarter of 2023, according to TheTechOutlook. A number of key details about the S17 lineup were leaked well before the launch.
There will be three smartphones in the Vivo S17, according to the report. Vivo S17 (V2283A), Vivo S17 Pro (V2284A), and Vivo S17e (V2285A) are the expected devices.
In markets outside of China, the Vivo S16 Pro was rebranded as the Vivo V27 Pro. Therefore, the Vivo S17 Pro is likely to be rebadged as the Vivo V29 Pro in the global market. Vivo S16 and S16e will not be rebranded for the global market, however.
The Vivo S17 lineup does not explicitly mention the specifications of its three phones. There is, however, mention that the trio will have a Super AMOLED display with curved edges and a color-changing back panel.
In the Vivo S17 series, there will be 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM, virtual RAM support, and 128 GB / 256 GB of internal storage. According to reports, the S17 Pro will also be available with 16 GB of RAM. There will be an OIS-enabled primary camera on the S17 lineup. There are no details on the rest of the S17’s specifications.
The Vivo S17 lineup will replace the Vivo S16, S16 Pro, and S16e, which went official in December 2022. Accordingly, the first teasers may surface in June in the home market for the S17 series, which is expected to arrive in Q3.
