The foldable market has been dominated by Samsung for a couple of years now. South Korean tech giant Samsung will soon face competition from multiple brands in the foldable market. Recently launched in the global market, OPPO’s Find N2 Flip will compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip. Tecno Phantom V Fold and OnePlus V Fold (tentative name) compete with the Galaxy Z Fold series. Realme may soon compete with Samsung in both Flip and Fold categories.
As the global folding phone market heats up this year, it seems Realme is finally ready to compete. In a tweet, Realme VP and President Madhav Sheth asked his followers whether they preferred a clamshell foldable (Realme Flip) or a larger book-style foldable (Realme Fold).
Vice President Xu Qi of Realme China discussed the company’s future plans in November 2022. The company will launch two GT Neo-branded phones, two number series phones, and one GT series phone every year. The company is also working on an affordable foldable phone, he added.
Realme has been rumored to be working on folding phones for years but has stayed away from the market to reach a much broader audience with regular slab phones.
In the near future, we should be able to find out more about Realme’s first foldable phone.
