A new pair of TWS earbuds is being launched by Nothing, the Ear (2). In advance of the March 22 launch of its upcoming premium TWS, the company has revealed some key details. Nothing also revealed some details about its flagship phone, the Phone (2). There will be a successor to the Nothing Phone (1) later this year. The upcoming smartphone from Nothing will offer a more premium experience than the original model. The upcoming Nothing smartphone’s performance unit details have been revealed in a new leak.
According to Nothing CEO Carl Pei, the Phone (2) will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series processor. During the Mobile World Congress 2023, the Nothing CEO did not reveal any specific details about the chipset. Now a Qualcomm executive, the processor details of the Phone (2) have leaked online.
Nothing Phone (2) is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Alex Katouzian, Qualcomm’s SVP, and GM of Mobile, Compute, and XR, leaked the details. Within minutes of making the post live, Katouzian deleted the details from his LinkedIn profile. The 91Mobiles team managed to take a screenshot just in time, however.
According to the post, the Phone (2) will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. Despite being a generation old, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC is still quite fast and efficient for most applications. I’m interested in seeing when Nothing launches. In the second half of 2023, Qualcomm might also launch the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 SoC, which might cause the Phone (2)’s performance unit to feel dated.
