In recent years, Google has become notorious for losing track of unreleased hardware units. A number of the company’s devices have been spotted in various places well before their official launch. With the Google Pixel Fold, history repeats itself.

This will be the company’s first foray into the foldable market and should launch by the end of the year. One person has, however, reported seeing and photographing a rogue Pixel Fold. Onetaketeo posted some photos taken in the New York City subway that ostensibly show the Pixel Fold in all its glory.

Despite the blurry images, one of them appears to have a degree of similarity to the Google Pixel Fold renders that were leaked a couple of months ago.

Besides spotting the foldable’s camera bump, the Reedit user claims they also saw the Pixel lineup’s signature camera bump. This is also why they believe the device is the unreleased Pixel Fold.

Despite how bad Google is at keeping secrets, this leak shouldn’t be taken too seriously. Reddit user snapped some pictures of what appears to be a Samsung foldable, but there are many non-Samsung foldable that look similar.

The date for Google’s annual developer conference was just announced today. The Google Pixel Fold could potentially be unveiled at Google I/O 2023 on May 10th.
