The date for Google’s annual developer’s conference, I/O 2023, has been announced as May 10. It is expected that Google will unveil its latest Pixel series, including the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, at this event. The Pixel 8 Series is likely to be showcased at Google’s event, similar to the Pixel 7 Series last year.

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, codenamed “shiba” and “husky,” are expected to be released in the second half of 2023, according to December reports. We do not yet know what hardware upgrades the Pixel 8 Series will receive, but we do have exclusive information about its design courtesy of @onleaks.

Design:

According to the images, the phone’s body has been redesigned with rounded corners, departing from the boxy shape of its predecessor. There is also a significant modification to the camera module, in which all three lenses are now integrated into a single oval area. The new sensor is located below the flash, but its specific purpose is unknown. The sensor could be a macro or depth sensor, or it could be an entirely new type of sensor.

There will be a centered punch-hole selfie camera on the Pixel 8 Pro’s flat panel, rather than a curved one, and a display size of circa 6.52 inches. The device measures 162.6×76.5×8.7mm, while its thickness is approximately 12mm, including the camera bump. It has been resized so that there are more rounded corners, which results in a slightly smaller overall display.

On the bottom edge, there is a USB Type-C port and speakers, while the top edge is empty. There is a power button and volume rocker on the right edge, and a Google logo on the back. On the left edge is the SIM tray.
