Samsung launched its last Fan Edition / “FE” smartphone a while ago. In January last year, the Galaxy S21 FE was released. Since then, nothing. First, we heard of a Galaxy S22 FE, then, when that didn’t arrive, we heard of a Galaxy S23 FE, which is expected to arrive in the second half of this year.

Despite this, Roland Quandt, a prolific leaker (and usually reliable) has some bad news for everyone waiting for the S23 FE. In his opinion, it doesn’t seem likely that there will be an S23 FE this year. Or any other year, for that matter.

We can’t tell you exactly what’s going on and what Samsung’s plans are. You shouldn’t forget to take any such reports with a healthy dose of skepticism since there are conflicting reports regarding the launch (or lack thereof) of this device.

While Quandt did not elaborate further, it’s safe to assume that he would have known something about such a device if it was due out in the coming months – he’s a constant source of leaks after all. We believe he may not have seen anything about the S23 FE yet, which means it may never exist.

There was never a true feeling of comfort with Samsung’s two FE smartphone models. For a similar budget, Samsung would be much happier if you bought last year’s flagship (or the one from the year before), or the A-series mid-ranger instead of something like this. We’ll keep you posted on what actually transpires, at least.
