During MWC Barcelona, Xiaomi will launch the flagship Xiaomi 13 series in the global market on February 26. In the meantime, a leaker has revealed the company’s future flagship phones. The company will skip the Xiaomi 13S lineup this year but launch the Xiaomi 13T series sometime in Q4.
Xiaomi followed up its Xiaomi 12 series last year with an improved 12S lineup. This one featured a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor that was more efficient. Xiaomi’s lineup also included the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, which was considered the pinnacle of smartphone imaging. Xiaomi 13S will not be released this year, according to leakster Digital Chat Station.
Xiaomi 13 devices come with the impressive Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, an upgrade from last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Qualcomm is unlikely to release a new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 SoC, leaving Xiaomi little room for improvement. Since the current 13 lineup already boasts impressive hardware, it makes sense for the brand not to introduce a new 13S series.
This year, Xiaomi will release its more affordable 13T series, according to the leakster. Furthermore, one of the upcoming phones will be a rebranded Redmi K60 Extreme Edition, which has not yet been released. Xiaomi used a similar strategy last year when rebadging the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition as the Xiaomi 12T Pro.
