The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 (tentative names) are Samsung’s next-generation foldable phones. According to previous release patterns, both devices may be released in the third quarter of this year. Rumors about the Galaxy Z Fold 5 have already leaked a lot of information. In a new leak, Ice Universe has revealed one of the first details about the Z Flip 5.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 4 has a 1.9-inch cover display. According to display analyst Ross Young, the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s cover display will measure over three inches in December 2022. The cover screen of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be bigger than the external screen of the OPPO Find N2 Flip, which measures 3.26 inches diagonally. There is no information yet on the exact size of the Z Flip 5’s external screen.

Galaxy Z Flip 4’s cover display has limited capabilities. In addition to showing notifications, it also functions as a photo viewfinder. It is possible that Z Flip 5 may support some other native apps on its external screen in the future.

In addition, Young revealed that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will feature a new hinge design. It may be an attempt to reduce the display crease.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5’s other details have yet to be revealed. Recently, Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 series with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform.
