Redmi’s budget offering, the Redmi A1, may soon receive a successor. According to reports, the Redmi A2 has already been certified on the Bureau of Indian Standards website and is close to mass production. Roland Quandt (via WinFuture) has revealed renders of this upcoming device.
Design:
According to the renders, the Redmi A2 looks almost identical to the Redmi A1. There are two cameras on the back of the device with a textured plastic back design. On the front, there is a notch, along with thick bezels and a thick chin. Power and volume buttons can be found on the right, while Micro-USB and 3.5mm audio jacks can be found on the bottom. Speaker grilles can be found on the top.

The new Redmi A2 will sport 6.52 inches HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, & a 20:9 aspect ratio. Redmi A2 is powered by MediaTek Helio G36 SoC coupled with 2GB/3GB LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB eMMC 5.1 storage. It also gets a microSD card slot.
It features an 8MP main rear camera with LED flash along with a 2MP depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.2. The device comes with a 5MP selfie shooter with an f/2.2 aperture. It packs a 5000 mAh battery with 10W charging support.
The connectivity options include Dual SIM with Dual 4G LTE and VoLTE, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.0, Wifi, USB Type-C port, FM Radio, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It runs on Android 13 Go Edition without any custom skin on top. The device measures 9.09 mm thick and weighs 192g.
The new Redmi A2 will cost 97 Euros (Rs.8500/-) in Europe.
