The Poco X5 and Poco X5 Pro smartphones were recently launched in India as well as in several other markets around the world. It is possible that the company will introduce another Poco X5 GT to the series. While we wait, Poco has confirmed that it will soon launch an affordable C series smartphone in India. This handset is called Poco C55, and reports claim it’s a rebranded Redmi 12C. Let’s take a closer look at it.
On Twitter, Poco confirmed the launch of the new Poco C55 in India. There is no exact date given by the brand, but it said the phone is coming soon. Neither the specifications nor the design of the smartphone was revealed in the tweet. It has been reported that the C55 is a rebranded Redmi 12C that was launched in China on New Year’s Eve.
It is expected that the Poco C55 will follow up on the recently launched Poco C50. In terms of specifications and design, it could be a decent-budget smartphone. In India, the handset may cost less than Rs. 10,000.
Design:
According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the handset will have a leathery finish on the back and the brand’s signature camera bar. On the back of the Poco C55, we can see a dual camera sensor and a fingerprint sensor. Poco C55 is pictured in forest green and looks quite appealing. It is expected to follow the recently launched Poco C50. It could be a budget smartphone with decent specs and design.
Specs:
The new POCO C55 will sport 6.71 inches HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, & a 20:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by MediaTek Helio G85 SoC coupled with 4GB/6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB/128GB eMMC 5.1 storage.
It features a 50MP main rear camera with LED flash along with a 2MP depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.2. The device comes with a 5MP selfie shooter with an f/2.2 aperture. It packs a 5000 mAh battery with 10W charging support.
The connectivity options include Dual SIM with Dual 4G LTE and VoLTE, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.0, Wifi, micro USB port, FM Radio, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It runs on Android 12 OS without any custom skin on top. The device measures 8.7 mm thick and weighs 192g.
