Later this year, OnePlus will launch its own foldable smartphone. On the same day as OnePlus 11’s launch, the company announced its plans during its Cloud 11 event.
According to Digital Chat Station, a popular leaker on Weibo, the upcoming device will have a large display with a 2K resolution, similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series.
Therefore, the new OnePlus foldable won’t be the Oppo Find N2, which has a folding screen with a resolution closer to FHD+ than 2K. There is a possibility, however, that the OnePlus foldable and Oppo’s foldable Find N2 may share similar features.
The new device will be officially launched no earlier than July, so fans will need to be patient while they eagerly await its arrival. More information about OnePlus’ highly anticipated foldable phone will be available soon.
Both OPPO and Vivo have already released foldable devices in China, so OnePlus will follow suit. OnePlus is entering the foldable smartphone segment as all three brands are owned by BBK Electronics.
It remains to be seen how OnePlus’s upcoming foldable smartphone will fare in the early stages of the market. The backing of BBK Electronics, combined with the success of its sister companies’ foldable devices, positions OnePlus well for future success.
