OnePlus Hub 5G router was one of the surprises from the OnePlus Cloud 11 launch event. It is the first router produced by the company. The OnePlus product portfolio appears to be expanding quite aggressively this year. Jio showed off Air Fiber at the 5G launch, but it is not yet available to the general public.
Details of the product will be shared at a later date, as they were only teased at the event. The product will be released in July 2023. The Jio Air Fiber router, which was showcased during Jio 5G launch, will compete with this product. Since the August 2022 reveal, Jio has not provided any details about the market availability.
In 2023 and 2024, 5G will reach users in a greater number of cities in India, so the 5G router or CPE market is expected to grow. Despite the availability of 5G services across India, Airtel and Jio have focused on 5G smartphones so far. Neither Jio nor Airtel’s 5G networks can be supported by routers in the Indian market at the moment. In the coming months, 5G broadband or Fixed Wireless Access will likely become the focus.
