Last year, Motorola introduced the Motorola X40 5G in China. Now, Motorola is preparing to launch the same device globally under the Motorola Edge 40 Pro moniker. The phone’s renders and price details were leaked last week, ahead of its official launch. Geekbench has now listed the Motorola Edge 40 Pro. Before the official launch of the Motorola Edge 40 Pro, Geekbench revealed its hardware specifications.

Motorola Edge 40 Pro will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, according to the Geekbench test results. It will come with 12GB of RAM and Android 13 OS out of the box. According to Geekbench, the phone scored 1480 points in the single-core test and 4889 points in the multi-core test. Motorola Edge 40 Pro’s Geekbench results indicate that it will have similar hardware to the Chinese X40 5G phone.

The new Motorola Edge 40 Pro will sport 6.67 inches FHD+ 10-bit OLED display with curved edges on either side. It comes with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400p with 10-bit colors & supports a 165Hz refresh rate. The device gets in-display fingerprint scanner support & comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top.

The device is powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC coupled with 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage space.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro will feature a 50MP main 1/1.55″ sensor with OIS coupled with a 50MP ultra-wide with 117-degrees FoV. There is another 12MP portrait telephoto IMX663 sensor with 2x optical zoom & LED flash. There is a whopping 60MP selfie shooter under the punch-hole notch.

The connectivity options include an in-display fingerprint scanner, Dual 5G support, USB-C with DisplayPort 1.4 support, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and GPS. It arrives in two colors, Smoky Black and Tourmaline Blue. This time the device also gets IP68 certified making it dust and water-resistant.

All this is packed with a 4500 mAh battery with 125W fast charge support. The device also supports 15W wireless & 15W reverse wireless charging. It runs on Android 13 OS out of the box.
