The Motorola Moto X40 was launched last month in the Chinese market as Motorola’s latest flagship smartphone. Motorola Edge 40 Pro is expected to hit the global market soon. It has already appeared on FCC, TDRA, and Geekbench, hinting at its imminent release.
Appuals has revealed the design of the Edge 40 Pro, further confirming that it is indeed a rebranded Moto X40.
According to the renders, the upcoming device comes in two colors – black and blue. Similar to the X40, it has a curved back and a square-shaped camera island. According to the inscription on the camera module, the phone has a 50MP primary camera sensor.
An upper center hole-punch cutout is visible on the curved display of the phone. There are also extremely thin bezels at the top and bottom of the screen. Power and volume keys can also be found on the right edge of the phone. In addition, there will be an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The new Motorola Edge 40 Pro will sport 6.67 inches FHD+ 10-bit OLED display with curved edges on either side. It comes with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400p with 10-bit colors & supports a 165Hz refresh rate. The device gets in-display fingerprint scanner support & comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top.
The device is powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC coupled with 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage space.
The Motorola Edge 40 Pro will feature a 50MP main 1/1.55″ sensor with OIS coupled with a 50MP ultra-wide with 117-degrees FoV. There is another 12MP portrait telephoto IMX663 sensor with 2x optical zoom & LED flash. There is a whopping 60MP selfie shooter under the punch-hole notch.
The connectivity options include an in-display fingerprint scanner, Dual 5G support, USB-C with DisplayPort 1.4 support, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and GPS. It arrives in two colors, Smoky Black and Tourmaline Blue. This time the device also gets IP68 certified making it dust and water-resistant.
All this is packed with a 4500 mAh battery with 125W fast charge support. The device also supports 15W wireless & 15W reverse wireless charging. It runs on Android 13 OS out of the box.
The Moto Edge 40 Pro will cost 850 Euros (Rs.75,500/-) in Europe.
